Burlington County has Issued New Guidelines for Recycling Shredded Paper

Unfortunately, shredded materials are something the new recycling sorting equipment cannot handle automatically.  Therefore, the county has adopted a procedure that will permit manual sorting of the shredded paper ONLY if it is contained in clear plastic bags which are securely tied closed.

If you can't use the clear bags, then the shredded paper should be treated as waste and it can go in the trash.

Please note, you can always bring shredded paper, or papers to be shredded, to one of the county shredding events which are periodically held. Shredding events will be published on the township website and advertised on the township Facebook page.
